Hampton Inn & Suites Fredericksburg

Having traveled all over the world and stayed at many Hilton owned hotels, I must say that this one would be one of our favorite ones. Front staff was excellent, the room was great (especially with the balcony), and the location is also great. The best thing we're liking so far is that it perfectly fits into the Fredericksburg environment. Only sticking points are the balcony and bathroom doors. They really stick...lol Highly recommend this place, and that is after traveling six Continents, 100 countries, and all 50 states.

Joel, check in person, was awesome. He responded to issues timely and appropriately. Clean large room with couch. The hotel needs to increase maintenance as ice maker on floor was not working and fridge in room does not get cold. Decent lighting and outlet placement. Nice outdoor pool and gazebo. Pool is shallow making laps difficult. Pool towels from front desk instead of at pool. Typical Hampton Inn breakfast although nicely presented. Unfortunately, we could hear the people treading on the floor above us very easily at an early hour.

Okay. It seems strange that I would give a "4" rating, but in the categories listed... Hampton Inn deserves a least a 4. Needless to say... there were issues. First of all, we are "Diamond" status and try always to stay loyal to the Hilton chain. Diamond parking was not in the most convenient spot, but we aporeciated it all the same. Generally, we prefer a double queen or king, on the 2nd floor, and away from traffic (inside and out). We were given 1st floor, next to the laundry, and with 2 3/4-sized beds... and told that double queens were "not available". Ok. Fine. Late into the night, loud music was being played outside our room even later, something very heavy dropped above us... caising us bothbto jump. It sounded like the bed broke! Early... very early... I woke to loud bangs and voices that sounded like 2 people fighting. I jumped out of bed ready to put an end to the shouting (because no one should be spoken to like that), just to realize that someone in the laundry area was slamming doors shut, machines were spinning, and someone was watching TV or listening to a very animated program. Then... the mower and leaf blower outside our window. We didn't really receive the rest we needed.
